Club members are invited to Military Reporters & Editors annual conference

Former National Press Club President Jen Judson invites Club members to attend the Military Reporters & Editors Annual Conference on Friday, Oct. 25, at the Medill School of Journalism’s Washington Newsroom.

As land warfare reporter for Defense News, Judson is the vice president of MRE, a non-profit organization for journalists covering the military, national security and homeland defense.

The conference offers a perfect mix of newsmaking speeches, professional development panels and networking opportunities. Keynote speakers are U.S. Air Force Chief of Staff Gen. David Allvin and the commanding officer of USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN 69), Navy Capt. Chris “Chowdah” Hill. White House National Security Spokesman John Kirby will also sit down for a conversation. David Martin, national security and military correspondent for CBS News, will discuss his accomplished career. Panel discussions will include military reproductive rights and technology and innovation. MRE award recipients will also be announced.

An agenda and registration information is available online. NPC members will receive a discounted rate to attend ($35), and the registration includes breakfast and lunch.

MRE will also host a dinner at 7:30 p.m. following the conference at the National Press Club. Dinner information is also available with the conference agenda.
