Explore DC’s Wildlife in Images at Photo Team Meeting with DC Bird Alliance

Incredible images of DC area eagles, songbirds and our other feathered neighbors will be shown by the DC Bird Alliance. The group, whose goal is to build people-powered, bird-friendly communities in all DC’s eight wards, has members who take amazing photos during their nature outings. The Alliance, an official chapter of the National Audubon Society in Washington, D.C., wants every resident in the district to be aware of the meaningful benefits of bird conservation through its education and advocacy.

María-Elena Montero, vice president of programming, will showcase DC bird photos taken by group members. She was raised in Takoma Park, Maryland, where she first fell in love with the outdoors. An avid birder, her favorite bird is the one she sees next.

Join us Wednesday, Oct. 9 at 12:00 pm in the Cosgrove Lounge. The event is free and open to NPC members, but reservations are required. The Photo Team's meeting begins with a self-funded lunch from the Reliable Source at 12:00 noon, followed by the presentation and Q&A beginning at 1:00 pm. Live audio of the event will be available for remote participants, with presentation slides distributed in advance. The program is open to all National Press Club members and free, but advance reservations are required.
