Learn how to manage digital images, March 10
As they produce more photos, today's photographers and other media professionals are faced with the need to store, catalog, retrieve and account for these valuable digital assets.
Peter Krogh, a photographer and recognized expert on digital asset management, is joining National Press Club's Photography Team on Thursday, March 10, at 12 noon to get Club members started in managing their growing numbers of digital images.
Krogh will help Photo Team and Club members better deal with their digital image collections. At the meeting, participants will learn the benefits of better managing their digital image assets and identify steps to get these assets under control. Krogh is expected to discuss digital asset management functions, software, and services and online backup options.
In addition to being a professional photographer, Krogh is a leading authority on digital asset management, or DAM, for photography. He's author of The DAM Book, now in its third edition, and associated study guides. Krogh has worked or consulted with Adobe, Microsoft, and other companies, as well as Library of Congress and World Press Photo.
The Photo Team meeting will take place in the Cosgrove Lounge. It will begin with a self-funded lunch from the Reliable Source, with the discussion beginning at 1 p.m. The meeting will be available via Zoom for remote participants at 1 p.m. Please note that the Club requires up-to-date Covid-19 vaccination to enter the premises, and masks are recommended while on-site except during meals.
The event is free for National Press Club members and guests, but advance registration is requested for both in-person and online participation.
