Governor Asa Hutchinson to Introduce His NGA Chair’s Initiative on Computer Science Education

National Initiative Will Build on Successes in Arkansas

WASHINGTON – National Governors Association Chairman and Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson will introduce his 2021-22 NGA Chairman’s Initiative, K-12 Computer Science Education, Oct. 1 at The National Press Club in Washington, D.C. Since becoming Governor of Arkansas in 2015, Gov. Hutchinson has championed computer science education and coding as tools to build long-term prosperity and offer economic opportunities for youth. Arkansas’ experiences as the first state to require every high school to offer a computer science course inform Gov. Hutchinson’s bipartisan nationwide initiative as the new Chairman of the National Governors Association.
