Media Coverage of Terrorism

Mr. Jordan talked about the challenges of covering terrorism in Russia. Among the topics he addressed were maintaining independence from state-run entities, recent coverage of a terrorist hostage crisis in a Moscow theater, and the impact the coverage had on media operations in Russia. The theater event and subsequent rescue attempt left hundreds of Russians dead. During his remarks he showed several examples of NTV news coverage and then he answered questions from the audience.
