WHAT: Poland is one of the Trump administration’s closest partners in Europe. Poland is planning on purchasing US F-35 jet fighters, and liquified gas from the U.S. in an effort to cut its energy dependence on Russian imports. At a time when some are questioning President Trump's relationship with a hardline conservative leader, come learn what each country has to gain and lose in Warsaw. The two leaders are expected to discuss NATO, visa waivers, bilateral trade relations and investment opportunities for American businesses. Eric Stewart is the President of the US-Poland Business Council and a former Deputy Assistant Secretary for Europe/Eurasia at the Department of Commerce under President George W. Bush. The Council represents Fortune 500 American Companies who do business in Poland. Dan Fried was the United States Ambassador to Poland from November 1997 until May 2000. He served as Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs from 2005 to 2009. He began his career with the Foreign Service in 1977. Ambassador Fried was Polish Desk Officer at the State Department from 1987 to 1989 as democracy returned to Poland and Central Europe. Free coffee and continental breakfast will be provided.
