NPC Freelance Committee to Face the FAQs – Should I Write a Book? A workshop on Monday, May 21, 2012, 6:30 p.m.

So you are a professional reporter looking for a new way to reach readers and impress editors. Should you consider writing a book? Learn the facts. In this hour lecture and discussion we’ll cover some of the important FAQs that can help you decide whether you should be an author and bookmaker as well as a journalist. Here are some of the most Frequently Asked Questions that need answering when considering writing a book:
WHO: Who me? Who am I writing the book for?
*WHAT: What am I going to write about? What kind of book do I want it to be? (*We will spend most of the time on this question as it determines all the others)
WHERE: Where do I want the book to be seen, sold and read?
WHEN: When do I want to get the book out?
WHY: Why a book? Why would someone want to read it?
HOW: How do I get this done?
