Census Database Training For Journalists - Sponsored by the NPC Journalism Institute’s Professional Development Committee

The U.S. Census Bureau will host a special training workshop on Friday, Feb. 24 from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. to help reporters navigate its American Fact Finder database. Their web-based data can help journalists dig up information on population, housing, economic, and geographic details to back up any story. Learning to find key data will help beef up investigative and initiative stories as well as spot stories and help illuminate election year coverage on the issues. The class is free for NPC members; $10 for non-members. It will be held in the Bloomberg Classroom, and laptops will be provided for the class. Coffee will be also be available at 9 a.m.
