GRAMMY® Winner Natalie Cole to Speak on Hepatitis C at Luncheon, Oct. 19
GRAMMY® award winning entertainer Natalie Cole, daughter of singing legend Nat King Cole, will address a Press Club Speakers luncheon on Wednesday, Oct. 19.
Ms. Cole, diagnosed with chronic hepatitis C in 2008, is lending her voice to Merck and the American Liver Foundation’s national public health initiative, Tune In to Hep C. Cole will visit Washington, D.C., to meet with leading patient advocates and will address the National Press Club to help elevate the discussion around chronic hepatitis C and encourage others to take action.
Hepatitis C is a liver disease often referred to as the “silent disease” because it can be in the body for decades without apparent symptoms. An estimated 3.2 million Americans have hepatitis C though many are unaware they have it.
The singer, songwriter, and performer re-recorded many of her father’s standards, including Unforgettable, which sold over seven million copies and also won Cole numerous Grammy Awards.
This is a Holeman event and is limited to Press Club members plus one guest.
The Press Club luncheon will begin promptly at 12:30 p.m. Remarks will begin at 1:00 p.m., followed by a question-and-answer session. Advance reservations should be made through (202) 662-7501 or [email protected]. The cost of luncheon admission is $18 for National Press Club members, $29 for their guests, and $36 for the general public. Tickets must be purchased at time of reservation.
