Jamila Bey, radio/TV reporter, producer and writer formerly for NPR and now with Russian Broadcasting, has agreed to speak to our committee (she is the former chair) about tricks of the trade of pitching and preparing a freelance piece for radio or television. Obviously she has great INSIDE KNOWLEDGE (she also just recently got a long piece in the New York Times!).
So come one and all. Here's a new way to expand your freelance opportunities (and if you haven't noticed, radio and TV seem to be doing better these days than do newspapers).
