Ingrid Betancourt Will Discuss Her Years of Captivity on September 22
Ingrid Betancourt will discuss her book “Even Silence Has an End: My Six Years of Captivity in the Colombian Jungle” at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, September 22, in the Conference Rooms.
Ms. Betancourt was abducted in 2002 while campaigning in the Colombian presidential election and was rescued in 2008. Her story provides a first hand account of surviving a physical and psychological nightmare.
The event is free for Club members, $5 for non-members. As a fundraiser for the Eric Friedheim National Journalism Library, no outside books will be permitted. Copies of the book will be available for purchase ($30) and signing.
Reservations are required at [email protected] or call 202-662-7523.
