Assisted Suicide Issues
Dr. Kevorkian and his attorney spoke about the legal and ethical issues involved in assisted suicide. They argued that people have a right not to suffer and that the medical community's ethics are based on religious, rather than rational, principles. Mr. Kevorkian has assisted in 33 suicides since 1990. After their remarks, they took questions from the audience.
