Topic: "Craving Change: How Food Day Can Help Fix a Broken Food System"

With two out of three Americans overweight or obese, and with a food and farm system that takes a heavy toll on the land, workers and farm animals, food policy leaders are planning Food Day on Oct. 24 as both a celebration of healthy, affordable and sustainably produced food, and a grass-roots mobilization for improved food policies. Food Day is spearheaded by the nonprofit Center for Science in the Public Interest, which is celebrating its 40th anniversary, and its executive director, Michael F. Jacobson. Food Day has plans to include events from coast to coast aimed at inspiring Americans to take action to fix what organizers say is a broken food system.
