NPC Luncheon
Ted Leonsis, majority owner of the NHL’s Washington Capitals and the NBA’s Washington Wizards and one of the most powerful figures in Washington sports and business, will address the National Press Club at a luncheon, July 13.
Leonsis, who made his fortune at AOL, has transformed the Capitals into one of the most exciting teams in hockey, led by superstar Alex Ovechkin. Still the team has consistently fallen short in the playoffs. Long- suffering Wizards fans are hopeful he can at least get the basketball team back to the postseason.
The National Press Club luncheon will begin promptly at 12:30 p.m. and Leonsis’ remarks will begin just after 1:00 p.m., followed by a question-and-answer session. Advance reservations should be made by contacting reservations at the National Press Club at (202) 662-7501 or [email protected]. Cost of luncheon admission is $18 for National Press Club members, $29 for their guests, and $36 for general admission. Tickets must be purchased at time of reservation.
