Mr. Egidijus Meilunas and Dr. Tomicah Tillemann

The Deputy Foreign Minister of Lithuania, MR. EGIDIJUS MEILUNAS and The Senior Advisor to Secretary of State Clinton for Civil Society and Emerging Democracies, DR. TOMICAH TILLEMANN, will discuss "THE HIGH-LEVEL DEMOCRACY MEETING IN VILNIUS, LITHUANIA, JUNE 29-JULY 1"

The meeting will come at the end of Lithuania's presidency of the Community of Democracies (CD) and will have a special focus on supporting democratic transition and consolidation worldwide--but especially in North Africa and the Middle East--and on helping bridge the gap between the principles of democracy and universal human rights. The Vilnius meeting will seek to achieve these goals by strengthening a global network of government representatives, members of legislative bodies, civil society and others committed to them. It will have five parts: A ministerial conference with the participation of foreign ministers; a meeting of the Parliamentary Forum; a meeting of world women leaders; a Youth Forum; and a private business meeting.
