FLEET FEET Sports Adams Morgan in conjunction with NEW BALANCE and OnPoint FITNESS is proud to present three NO BOUNDARIES Beginners Running Clinics to benefit walkers/runners participating in the NPC’s BEAT THE DEADLINE 5K.
The purpose of each clinic is to introduce participants to the lifetime fitness activities of running and walking and to give them the tools to prepare themselves to walk/run a 5K event.
The NO BOUNDARIES™ 5k Run/Walk Training Clinics will offer participants guidance and advice from experienced coaches on topics such as proper running form, progression, choosing the right gear, and avoiding injury, all within a fun and supportive environment.
The NO BOUNDARIES™ Clinics will be held at the National Press Club on:
• Thursday, May 12, 6 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.
• Friday, May 13, 8 a.m. – 9:30 a.m.
• Friday, May 13, 10 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
Each class will run 90 minutes with some movement involved. Participants should dress in comfortable clothing and athletic footwear.
Classes are valued at $75 per person but will be offered at an extraordinary discount of $5 for members and $10 for non-members. All participants will receive a gift from FLEET FEET Sports and New Balance. Classes are limited to 50 registrants per clinic.

Classes will be taught by:
Shawn Fenty
Shawn Fenty is the co-owner of FLEET FEET Sports Adams Morgan, DC’s premiere running specialty store, where he has worked since its inception in 1984. A “PHD in F I T”, he understands the ways of shoes and feet as few others do. Shawn makes sure that all the needs of all the feet are covered before they even arrive at the store.
Shawn has been a competitive club level bike racer for 25 years and currently races for DC Velo, DC's premiere bicycle racing club. As a runner the fun stops for Shawn at 10K, so he has been racing the local 10k, 8K, and 5K circuit the last few years, consistently placing in the top ten in the 40-44 age group. Shawn has just completed his third season of Olympic distance triathlon racing where he enjoys competing with his younger brother, former DC Mayor Adrian Fenty.
Lloyd Henry
Lloyd Henry is a 6-time Ironman FINISHER (Wisconsin, South Africa, Western Australia, Arizona, Coeur d’Alene, and Louisville) with international race experience in all triathlon distances. He has been running since 2002 and coaching triathletes since 2004. In addition to triathlon, Lloyd has competed in numerous running events (5k to marathon) including the 110th Boston Marathon.
Form and technique are the focal points of Lloyd’s coaching style. As a coach he enjoys seeing clients experience that “ah ha” moment. Whether, it is gliding though the water with ease, finally feeling like a fish in the water, figuring out how to level their pelvis using only their abs, the feel of gravity pulling them forward as they engage their lean, or the sudden outburst of “I‘m running and it doesn‘t hurt”. He has helped clients learn to swim, improve their stroke, compete in triathlon, move from the couch to a 5k, finish their first marathon, and qualify for Boston.
A native of St. Croix, US Virgin Islands, Lloyd has a B.S. in Biology, M.S. in Medical Science and MBA degree. He is also an avid scuba diver and snowboarder.
