Editor-in-Chief of Caixin Media Co. to Speak About Chinese Media Environment

Date and Time: March 23 at 2 p.m.
Place: West Room, National Press Club (529 14th St. NW, 13th floor)

How does an independent Chinese media company successfully operate in a sea of state-run media? Will more independent media companies be established in China in the near future? Hu Shuli, editor-in-chief of Caixin Media Co., will address these questions at a March 23 Newsmaker event.

Hu also serves as editor-in-chief for the weekly magazine Century Weekly, executive editor-in-chief for the monthly journal China Reform and dean of the School of Communication and Design at Sun Yat-sen University. Hu founded CAIJING Magazine, which has been named one of China’s most authoritative business publications.

Hu worked as an international editor and chief reporter for China Business Times from 1992 to 1998, and was chief of financial news for the Hong Kong-based broadcaster Phoenix TV in 2001.
