Special Event
The Young Members and Events Committees present an evening with Adam Rich, Co-Founder/Editor-In-Chief of Thrillist.com on Wednesday, February 2 at 7PM.
Rich and his business partner Ben Lerer took their idea of a no-BS city guide that catered to guys in his age bracket from a small, well informed email newsletter to 2.2 million daily subscriptions in 18 localized markets in the U.S. and the U.K. in just over 5 year time.
Thrillist.com was ranked number 93 in Inc Magazine's 2010 list of the 500 fastest-growing privately held companies in the U.S. Last year, Rich was also featured in INC Magazine's "30 under 30" list of successful entrepreneurs.
Rich will be joined by Thrillist.com DC Editor Leo Schmid. They will both discuss the story of how Thrillist got its start and some of the lessons learned along the way. This conversation will include a discussion on the importance of email, how to grow an audience, the keys to creating quality content, and what is looked for in a Thrillist editor. They will also touch on the changing media climate, various ways to evolve and keep current, and the future of the media industry.
Adam Rich is the perfect example of success as a Young Entrepreneur in Media. If you are a freelance journalist, a blogger, or someone who wants to learn more about how media is evolving, this is A CAN’T MISS EVENT.
It is free for members, $10 for non-members. Reservations for non-members can be made at http://www.eventbrite.com/event/1184401577. Members can email [email protected] with their name and member number.
