U.S. Economic Policy
Ms. Tyson discussed the state of the U.S. economy and the prospects for the coming months. She discussed the Federal Reserve's request for a one-quarter cent rise in short-term interest rates. She is a member of the Council of Economic Advisors. The council is a three member advisary group which predicts and analyzes the economy and advises the president on economic developments, trends, and policies. The council also prepares the annual economic report of the president, for congress.
