Post-Cold War Role of NATO

Secretary General Woerner spoke about the changing role of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) in light of the fall of the Soviet Union. He stated that NATO will continue to have a major role in international security objectives throughout the world. Following his opening remarks, he took questions from the audience concerning U.N. Intervention in Somalia, the conflict in former Yugoslavia, and the Middle East peace talks.
