Civil Rights Progress Since 1968

Ms. King, the widow of late civil rights leader Martin Luther King, Jr., spoke on the progress of civil rights in America following the legacy of her husband, who had been assassinated in Memphis twenty-five years earlier. She reflected upon the Kerner Report on civil unrest that had been released March 1, 1968, and the civil rights movement following the death of her husband and 1968 presidential candidate Robert Kennedy. Following her prepared remarks, Ms. King responded to questions from members of the audience.
