Top Energy Regulator to Discuss Reliability of the National Grid, Energy Prices at Jan. 27 Luncheon

Cheryl LaFleur, chairman of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, will speak about the challenges her agency faces to maintain the reliability of the nation's electricity grid and reasonable prices for consumers at a National Press Club luncheon on Tuesday, Jan. 27.

LaFleur, chairman of the commission since July 2014, will also talk about the expansion of the nation's natural gas supply system as the result of unprecedented production from the use of hydraulic fracturing technologies.

Lunch will be served at 12:30 p.m., with remarks beginning at 1 p.m., followed by a question-and-answer session ending at 2 p.m.
