Today! American Legion Post 20 to hear about 2024 election from political history curator
The National Press Club's American Legion Post 20 meets next on Wednesday, March 12, welcoming the guest speaker who was scheduled for its snowed-out Feb. 12 meeting — Dr. Claire Jerry, curator of the division of political history at the National Museum of American History.
Jerry plans to discuss how the museum recorded and interpreted the events of the 2024 electoral season and how those events are reflected in exhibits.
The luncheon meeting takes place at noon in the Reliable Source’s McClendon Room at the Club. All Press Club members are invited, and their guests may also attend. Attendees are asked to bring cash to pay their portion of the bill that combines all orders in one. (The buffet costs $23 plus tax.) Extra cash collected will be given to the wait staff as a tip.
American Legion Post 20 has been affiliated with the Club for more than a century. It was founded at the suggestion of famed World War I Gen. John J. Pershing, who was an associate member of the Club at the time.
