Regional reporters in Washington can compete for National Press Club honors

Washington-based regional reporters play a crucial role helping their readers back home understand the local angles on news from the nation’s capital. The National Press Club journalism contest seeks to recognize the best of this important work for 2014.

The deadline for entering the NPC Journalism Contest is April 1, so pick your entries and send them in using our online entry form or mail them soon! The winner will be honored at a dinner at the National Press Club this summer.

Information about the contest is here.
The contest includes awards for news and feature photos, breaking news, political reporting, international coverage, consumer reporting, online journalism, coverage of the news industry and newsletter journalism. It also includes a group of awards for areas as diverse as the aviation industry, problems facing the elderly and humor writing.

The 2014 winner was Katherine Skiba of the Chicago Tribune for a diverse body of work, including a look at the extent of former Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr.'s corruption and a fresh look at congressional foreign travel.
