Party with multi-talented Post cartoonist Tom Toles at Spring Hoot, May 1

Most people know Tom Toles as the award winning editorial cartoonist for The Washington Post. But in his other life, Toles leads a five-member band known as "Suspicious Package" in which he sings and plays the drums.

Toles will bring his band and musical talents to the Press Club on Friday, May 1 as the headliner for the Silver Owls Spring Hoot. In addition to the music, Toles will talk about his day job, including how he comes up with an idea and then draws it for the Post's editorial page. Toles' syndicated cartoons appear in nearly 100 other newspapers.

Prior to coming to The Post in 2002, Toles drew editorial cartoons for The Buffalo News, The Buffalo Courier-Express, The New York Daily News, and for The New Republic and U.S. News and Report magazines.

The Hoot, which is open to all NPC members and guests, begins at 6:30 PM with a cash bar cocktail hour, followed at 7:30 p.m. by a sit-down dinner. The cost is $35 per person.
