NPR Chief Executive Vivian Schiller to Address Luncheon, March 7

NPR President and CEO Vivian Schiller will discuss NPR’s vision for the future of public radio and the achievements of NPR’s member stations at a March 7 luncheon.

Schiller also will present her case for continued public support for the 40-year-old media organization. Despite recent rounds of cost cutting, NPR’s audience growth continues to break records. More people than ever use public radio in more ways -- commuters listen in traffic, joggers stream audio from their mobiles, and readers go to the Web or their iPad for the latest on global events and world music.

The luncheon will start at 12:30 p.m., with the speech beginning at 1 p.m. and ending at 2 p.m.

Tickets are $18 for National Press Club members; $29 for guests of members; and $36 for general admission. To reserve tickets, please e-mail [email protected] or call 202-662-7501. Tickets must be paid for at time of reservation.

To submit a question in advance, put SCHILLER in the subject line and email to [email protected] before 11 a.m. on the day of the luncheon.
