NPC member Rabbi Harold S. White dies

Rabbi Harold S. White, the Jewish chaplain at Georgetown University from 1968 until his retirement in 2009 and a National Press Club member since 2013, died Monday, Aug. 31 following a stroke earlier in the month while visiting his native Connecticut.

He was 83.

NPC member Connie Lawn sponsored Rabbi White’s membership in the Club as a communicator, and one of his last visits to the NPC was to attend a book party on May 21 celebrating her new autobiography, “You Wake Me Each Morning: The Final Chapter.” Rabbi White helped greet guests as he sat next to Connie as she signed copies of her book. He had celebrated his second Bar Mitzvah on May 9.
