NPC Communicators to host discussion about crisis management, Thursday

The number and severity of crisis situations that now confront companies and organizations — and put their reputation, profits, and future at risk — underscore the importance of knowing how to communicate about and deal with a crisis.

Crisis management expert, author, and National Press Club member Edward Segal will share his advice and insights in a virtual program hosted by the Communicators Team via Zoom video conference on Thursday, Aug. 20, from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. Registration is free for all Club members.

Segal is the author of the recently published  “Crisis Ahead: 101 Ways to Prepare for and Bounce Back from Disasters, Scandals, and Other Emergencies." It is rated the #1 best new book on crisis management to read this year by BookAuthority.org. Segal is the former marketing strategies columnist for The Wall Street Journal’s StartUpJournal.com, the author of two public relations handbooks and the host of the new "Crisis Ahead" podcast. 

Tom McMahon, a longtime Communicator Team member, will moderate a conversation with Segal about best practices for communicating about and managing a crisis, lessons to be learned from companies in the news that are dealing with a crisis, and how to create effective crisis management plans.
