New member Allison Priebe Brooks honored with "Golden Halo"

Evidence emerged at the Belle Haven Country Club last week that good works may have a genetic component.

New NPC member Allison Priebe Brooks, daughter of 2011 Berny Krug Award winner Lou Priebe, accepted "The Golden Halo Award" from Alexandria's Campagna Center at the Belle Haven Country Club on March 22. The award recognizes a member "who has "demonstrated selfless commitment to fundraising for the Center's programs." The Campagna Center has fostered a positive learning environment for Alexandria's children and families for 70 years.

Brooks, now head of the jewelry design firm Queen Bee Designs and an on-line journalist, is a former press secretary to U.S. Senator Max Cleland and a graduate of the University of Georgia's Henry Grady School of Journalism. Though a new member, Brooks is a familiar face around the Club, having accompanied Priebe, a 41-year NPC member, and his wife, Florence, to many Club events.
