Military Veterans in Journalism to discuss veterans in media at NPC, Nov. 11

A panel of military veteran journalists will discuss the role of veterans in the news media on Veterans Day, Friday, Nov. 11, at an event at the National Press Club sponsored by Military Veterans in Journalism, beginning with a time of socializing at 4:45 p.m., and the panel discussion starting at 5 p.m.

The panel features Bob Woodward of The Washington Post, Ron Nixon of the Associated Press, Allison Erickson of the Texas Tribune, and Military Veterans in Journalism Executive Director Zack Baddorf. Club President Jen Judson will moderate.

Military Veterans in Journalism also will be launching its new Military & Veteran Affairs Reporting Guide, a web portal that includes a military cultural competency and style guide, an expert directory, a showcase of veterans in media, and a reporting tips blog.

The event is free to attend and open to local journalists, MVJ members, veterans, and anyone interested in learning about veterans in journalism. Registration is required. Click here for more details and to register.
