Members photo exhibit now live; opening reception tonight
The 2025 members photography exhibit is now on display at the National Press Club, with an online catalog for viewing anywhere. The show opens officially with a reception at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 3.
The event is free, but RSVPs are required.
The show continues to Sept. 30 in the Club's main lobby, featuring 185 digital images and print photos from 52 participants, including 7 members taking part for the first time. This is the fourth year in a row the exhibit has drawn more than 50 photographers.
The exhibit's theme this year is the climate crisis, and NPC members responded with 106 images on that theme. Take 10 minutes and watch a slideshow of those images to get a feel for the wide array of impacts -- excessive heat, melting glaciers, fires, drought, floods, typhoon, hurricanes -- and effects on wildlife, agriculture, and urban life. Members' photos also show efforts to mitigate the harms from climate change, including graceful wind turbines over land and water, and citizens' support for action to alleviate the crisis.
The exhibit this year continues to display news photos from members on topics other than the climate, with street, landscape, and wildlife photography, and abstract digital art. Images shown in the Club lobby are divided into two slideshows, displayed with 16 print photos. Exhibit visitors can scan a QR code displayed at the exhibit to access the show catalog.
