Member Author Group hosts virtual event for ‘The Price of Climate Change,’ Nov. 30

Following the recent gathering of world leaders in Scotland to devise a way to combat the warming planet, National Press Club member Michael Curley plans to discuss his new book, The Price of Climate Change, at a virtual event at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 30.

Cover of Michael Curley's book 'The Price of Climate Change'The Price of Climate Change examines the array of costs associated with climate change and attempts to deal with it. The book addresses global climate change issues from the standpoints of mitigation, adaptation, and resilience and the funding mechanisms for each. It describes different types of energy sources as well as their respective costs, including nuclear, solar, natural gas, and more. It also examines the effects of agriculture on climate change as well as the potential ways it can be used to help mitigate the issue.

Curley is a lawyer who has made environmental law and finance his career. He has written six books and more than 50 articles on those subjects. He has worked in 42 countries and taught at the Johns Hopkins University, New York University, George Washington University, Wake Forest University, and the Vermont Law School. 

In his spare time, Curley writes fiction including three novels and four short stories.
