Member-Author Group features 'Northern Virginia Luminaries' at Nov. 16 book rap

Joe Motheral plans to discuss his book Northern Virginia Luminaries at the National Press Club on Thursday, Nov. 16 at 6:30 p.m. in the Reliable Source’s McClendon Room.

The event is free and open to all but since it is in the McClendon Room, reservations are necessary for non-members. To attend this Book Rap, sponsored by the Member-Author Group, please email the event coordinator, Joe Luchok at [email protected].

Northern Virginia Luminaries tells the stories of prominent people Motheral has interviewed over the course of his 45-year writing career. Among the many people in the book are Geraldine Brooks, Roger Mudd and Gen. George C. Marshall. He plans to keep you entertained with stories about people you might not know lived in Northern Virginia and others you might have met.

Motheral has more than 200 stories in print, including providing weekly columns for the Eagle-Tribune; working as stringer for the Abilene Reporter-News, as a columnist for the Loudoun Times-Mirror and close-up editor for The Grapevine magazine. He has written for Elan, Ashburn magazine, Eastern Home & Travel, Loudoun County magazine and Country Zest & Style. He and the artist Linda Hendrickson published a children's book, Curly the Llama in 2018.
