Meet The Washington Post's managing editor Friday in the McLendon Room

Liz Spayd, managing editor of The Washington Post and new member of the Press Club, will meet members for the newest edition of 'Media on Tap' on Friday March 9, at 7 p.m. in the McClendon Room.

Space is limited, so RSVP quickly here.

The news veteran began her career as a reporter and editor for a Detroit newspaper. She earned a position at The Post shortly before her 30th birthday, and in her subsequent 24-year tenure rose to overseeing its online presence. She was appointed managing editor in 2009.

In addition to answering questions about newspapers and their future, Spayd will talk about her own experience transitioning from traditional to new media (and back again), as well as the traits of a good public relations/communications professional from the viewpoint of a news editor.
