Join the National Press Club Journalism Institute for an in-person workshop designed for freelance journalists and those interested in starting a freelance business. You'll meet and hear from editors on how to craft pitches that catch their attention and ultimately get a green light. 

This event will take place on Friday, Dec. 8, at the National Press Club. Doors open at 12:30 p.m. The sessions start promptly at 1 p.m. Participants in this workshop will gain:  

  • Strategies for winning pitches  
  • Ways to managing freelancing as a business 
  • Advice on building the writer and editor relationship to sustain your business 
  • Opportunities to network with fellow freelancers and editors
