Towriss spent more than 20 years at CNN, helping shape the network from its early days into a global news leader. He served as deputy bureau chief and director of news coverage in Washington, and as executive producer of special events, leading major political and international coverage.

Following CNN, he led reputation strategy at The McGinn Group and later founded Envoy Strategy Group, advising on media, diplomacy and crisis communications around the world.
