Luncheon featuring Commanders' owners canceled

A Headliners Luncheon featuring the owners of the Washington Commanders slated for today -- Monday, July 29 -- was canceled last Friday. The event will be rescheduled for a later date.

Managing partner of the Washington Commanders Josh Harris and Tad Brown, chief executive of Harris Blitzer Sports & Entertainment, were to have addressed the Club luncheon.

Harris led a group that purchased the National Football League franchise last summer for $6.05 billion. He and his team have focused over the past year on improving the fan experience. The team announced in February that it had invested more than $75 million in upgrades to FedExField since it assumed ownership in July 2023.

The ownership team has also hired a new general manager, Adam Peters, and head coach, Dan Quinn. The Commanders drafted Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback Jayden Daniels of Louisiana State University in April. Both Harris and Brown have decades of experience in building professional sports teams, with Harris also serving as managing partner for both the NBA's Philadelphia 76ers and the NHL's New Jersey Devils.
