Lights, camera, exhibit! Share your best shots at this year’s photo show
Calling all photographers, from professional storytellers to smartphone snappers: The National Press Club Photo Team invites members to take part in our Club’s annual photography exhibit in September.
In keeping with the nation’s 250th anniversary celebration, the theme of this year’s exhibit is life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. While we encourage photos that fit this topic, it’s not required, and all entries are welcome.
This month-long celebration of visual storytelling, now in its 27th year, presents a digital gallery of member-captured images that will appear in continuous slideshows on four large-screen monitors in the lobby. Each year, the exhibit draws a crowd of participants – at least 50 each year – and viewers, who sometimes crowd the lobby to get a glimpse of our work.

Whether you shoot in color or black-and-white, with a DSLR or a phone, we want to see the images you consider unforgettable. The Photo Team is looking for up to five images that stand out aesthetically and technically. Your entries can be work-related or purely personal, and not shown in previous annual photo exhibits.
This is an exhibit, not a contest. There are no judges, trophies, or pressure. Just a chance to share your work with fellow members and showcase the stories you’ve captured through your lens.
The entry process begins July 31. Watch this space for instructions! The show will run throughout the month of September, kicking off with an opening reception.
So dig through your catalogues, tweak your favorites, and let your best images take center stage at the club. Questions? Send an email to Photo Team Chair Alan Kotok, [email protected].
