Learn copyright registration with Photo Team, Apr. 16
National Press Club member D.J. Caulfield will lead the Photography Team through his recent experience with securing copyright registrations, providing a step-by-step breakdown of the sometimes complex process. The in-person and online workshop is Wed., Apr. 16 beginning at 12:45 p.m. in the McClendon Room, with registration free but required.
In today’s environment, content creators want to display their work to the widest audience possible, but do not want their creations used inappropriately or captured by unsavory characters. One level of protection is to register their work with the U.S. Copyright Office at the Library of Congress.
Caulfield's 30-minute talk will be followed by Q&A from in-person and remote participants. He's a veteran reporter and photographer for newspapers on Long Island, N.Y., as well as former press officer on Capitol Hill and for U.S. federal agencies.
Caulfield is also co-chair of the Club's History and Heritage Team.In-person participants are invited to join the Photo Team for a self-funded lunch at noon from the Reliable Source, adjacent to the MClendon Room. The workshop for both in-person and remote participants, open to all Club members, begins promptly at 12:45 pm.
