Join the Broadcasters Social on Tuesday
There's a Broadcasters Social on Tuesday, Oct. 7, at 6 p.m. in the National Press Club's Truman Lounge. Those Club members interested in attending can connect with fellow broadcast professionals and talk about the job market or the latest in corporate ownership moves and decisions. Register here.
The social is organized by the Club's Membership staff, rather than by the Club's Broadcast-Podcast Team. Buy your own food and drink. No matter your experience level in the medium, this social is the perfect chance to connect with peers, share your stories, and explore the latest trends in broadcast journalism.
Speaking of Broadcast-Podcast, its next monthly meeting is on Tuesday, Nov. 18, at 6 p.m. in the Cosgrove Lounge. Sign up here.
The Broadcast-Podcast Team serves as a forum for members interested in multimedia journalism, including radio, television, podcasting and digital. All Club members are welcome to join the discussions.
Its members also produce the Update-1 podcasts at the Club and the team sponsors periodic limited-access informal dinner events that allow Club members and their guests to hear the broadcast journalism honoree's remarks and participate in an intimate Q&A. These are called Legends of Broadcast dinners. The next Legends of Broadcast dinner on Oct. 22 at 6 p.m. in the Club's Fourth Estate Room features the TV voice of the Washington Nationals, Bob Carpenter. Reservations here. This event is why there isn't a team meeting set for October.
Suggestions for future Legends honorees can be made to Team co-chair Adam Konowe at [email protected].
The Broadcast-Podcast Team has set a social and holiday party for Tuesday, Dec. 2, at 6 p.m. in the Cosgrove Lounge. Reserve here.
