Join the Austin Tice 5K in person or remotely, Nov. 8

The time to walk, run or remotely join the Austin Tice Virtual 5K is almost here!  Registration for the annual event is now underway as the National Press Club continues to show support for the detained journalist who was abducted in Syria while on assignment 13 years ago.

As NPC members continue to register, his sister, Naomi Tice, says the family is confident that the increased visibility from the race will make a significant difference.

According to the family, President Donald J. Trump has promised to bring Austin back from Syria.  Debra Tice, the detained journalist’s mother, has been working with the U.S. government, and she has reportedly received assurances from the current Administration.  

“My Mom has had several interactions, at which point, President Trump has said that he will bring Austin home,” Naomi Tice said.

She also emphasized the isolation her family has experienced during Austin’s detainment and expressed gratitude to Club members who keep his name in the news.  

We welcome all participants in the D.C. area to join us at the National Press Club at 9 a.m. for a run/walk around the Mall.
