Indianapolis Colts captain, owners to describe team's mental health initiative, May 18

coltsIndianapolis Colts linebacker and team captain Zaire Franklin, Colts owner & CEO Jim Irsay and Colts vice-chair and owner Kalen Jackson will speak about the Colts' new “Kicking The Stigma” mental health initiative at a National Press Club Virtual Headliner event at 2 p.m., Tuesday, May 18.

Started by the Irsay family, “Kicking The Stigma” aims to raise awareness about the prevalence of mental health disorders, remove the shame and stigma that is often associated with these illnesses, and expand access to treatment by raising and distributing funds to nonprofits and other organizations. Mental health disorders among retired players have become an issue in the National Football League.

The Irsay family kicked off the effort with several national public service announcements, and have already committed more than $4 million in the last year to expand treatment services across Indiana.

This one-hour program will stream live on the Club’s website and YouTube Channel and is accessible to both the press and general public free-of-charge. Viewers can submit their questions in advance or during the live program via email to [email protected] with the subject line COLTS.
