Hear Pulitzer Prize-winning reporter Rick Jervis on Thursday discuss new book

Pulitzer Prize-winning USA Today reporter Rick Jervis will discuss his new book, "The Devil Behind The Badge," at a National Press Club Headliners book event beginning at 6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 12.

The event will include a discussion with the author and a book signing. Ticket prices are $5 for Club members and $10 for general admission. Registration is essential.

In "The Devil Behind The Badge: The Horrifying Twelve Days of the Border Patrol Serial Killer," Jervis, who lives in Austin, tells the shocking story of a U.S. Border Patrol agent turned serial killer who, over the course of 12 days in September 2018, lures four victims into his white Dodge truck, drives them to the edge of town, shoots them at close range and leaves them dead or dying on the sides of rural roads. As the gripping, fast-paced tale unfolds, Jervis paints a portrait of the four murdered women and digs into the murderer's descent from a husband, doting father of three and trusted law enforcement agent into darkness.

Texas Monthly says Jervis "delivers a thrilling tick-tock on the borderland slayings and the effort to solve them."

To submit a question in advance for Jervis, put BORDER  in the subject line and email to [email protected]. The deadline for submitting questions in advance is 12 p.m. on the day of the event.

Make an evening of it. After the book talk, dine in the Reliable Source on the holiday buffet. Reserve your spot in advance.
