Jordan, a national political correspondent for The Washington Post, interviewed more than 100 people in five countries to decipher the publicly aloof First Lady. The book takes readers behind the scenes to see Melania Trump as part of President Trump's inner circle.

Jordan traces Mrs. Trump's journey from Slovenia, explores her days as a model, and delves into her long and complicated relationship with Donald Trump.

In 2003, she shared a Pulitzer Prize  for international reporting with husband Kevin Sullivan for their investigation of the Mexican judicial system. Jordan has taught journalism at Georgetown University, her alma mater, and spent a year studying at Harvard University as a Nieman Fellow.  She and Sullivan have written two books together: “Hope: A Memoir of Survival in Cleveland,” which was a No. 1 New York Times bestseller in 2015, and “The Prison Angel” in 2005. In 2016, The Washington Post honored Jordan with the Eugene Meyer Award for distinguished service, based on the principles of the paper’s legendary former owner: Tell the truth for the public good and always be fair.
