German dishes on the dinner buffet, with special Oktoberfest beer, at Reliable Source, Thursday

A variety of German dishes are the highlights of the buffet menu for the National Press Club’s gala annual observance of Oktoberfest on Thursday, Oct. 26, in the Reliable Source restaurant.

A special Oktoberfest beer will complement the buffet cuisine.

Adding a festive touch to the evening's revelry will be accordion player Russell Wilson. A member of the Marine Band, he often has performed at the White House.

The cost of buffet is $35 for members and $40 for nonmembers. Reservations are recommended by calling (202) 662-7443 or sending an email to [email protected].

Bratwurst and Knockwurst [cooked in sauerkraut; potato rolls and mustard on side]

Kohlrouladen [German beef & pork stuffed cabbage rolls in tomato sauce]

Wienerschnitzel [Breaded veal cutlet with lemon]

Himmel und Erde [“heaven and earth,” mashed potatoes with apples]

Rotkrautrezept [Red cabbage w/red wine & gingerbread seasoning]

Deutsche gebratene rote Rüben mit Buttersoße [Roasted beets with butter sauce]

Bavarian chopped green salad with walnut oil

Gurkensalat [Creamed cucumbers with chives and dill]
