Gay leader to discuss effects of expected Supreme Court ruling June 22

Sarah Kate Ellis, CEO and president of GLAAD, a lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender media advocacy organization, will discuss the future of the gay rights movement after the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision in Obergefell v. Hodges, expected by the end of the month, at a Newsmakers news conference on Monday, June 22 at noon in the Zenger Room.

Ellis will also provide a picture of the current landscape and of what might happen if the court rules against the plaintiff.

Ellis has been GLAAD president and CEO since January, 2014. She is an award-winning media executive and communications strategist who has led programming to spotlight the diversity of the lesbian, gay,bisexual and transgender community.

Like all Newsmakers events, this news conference is open to credentialed media and National Press Club members.
