FotoDC founder to describe photo events at noon, March 1

Theodore Adamstein, founder and executive director of FotoDC and FotoWeek DC, will describe this year's photo competitions, activities, and events at a luncheon meeting of the NPC Photography Committee at noon, Thursday, March 1, in the McClendon Room. FotoDC's many events include the National Cherry Blossom Festival photo contest, which runs through April 15. Winners will receive cash prizes and publicity.

Adamstein created FotoWeek DC in 2008, and it has evolved into a multi-season tribute to photography in all its forms. FotoWeek DC will be held this year from Nov. 9-18. It is expected to draw 50,000 people to more than 100 affiliated photo events and exhibitions in the DC area.

Adamstein is a fine arts photographer, with private gallery and museum shows, including several one-man exhibitions. He graduated from the Cooper Union School of Architecture in New York in 1980 and began careers in both photography and architecture. In 1982, he founded Chrome, Inc., a professional photo lab serving the mid-Atlantic region, which merged with DodgeColor in 2009. Adamstein is now co-owner and president of Dodge-Chrome, Inc.

All NPC members and their guests are welcome. No reservations are required.
