Election experts to analyze allegations of voting fraud, Oct. 28
Three election experts will analyze emerging allegations of voting fraud at 6 p.m. Monday, Oct. 28, at a National Press Club Headliners Cocktails & Conversation.
The event, to be held in the Fourth Estate room, features William Kresse, a commissioner on the Chicago Board of Elections; Dick Riley, an authority on forensic accounting and fraud; and Jennifer Morrell, CEO and co-founder of the Elections Group.
In addition to exploring potential election fraud, the group will discuss risk-limiting audits, evidence-based decision making, and the triangle of fraud evidence. They will explain what voters should know as they go to the polls about the security of their vote, the integrity of elections, and the safety of voting machines.

About the speakers:
William Kresse is a professor of auditing and fraud examination at Governors State University, a commissioner on the Chicago Board of Elections, and the founder and president of the Institute of Election Auditors. He is an attorney, a CPA, a Certified Fraud Examiner, a member of the American Bar Association Task Force for American Democracy Advisory Commission, a Special Advisor to the ABA Standing Committee on Election Law, and an Advisor to the Uniform Law Commission Committee on Election Law. He is a recipient of the ABA’s Unsung Heroes of Democracy Award.
Dick Riley, PhD, CPA, Certified in Financial Forensics, a Certified Fraud Examiner and a Certified Valuation Analyst, is the Louis F. Tanner Distinguished Professor of Public Accounting at West Virginia University and is nationally recognized for his contributions in forensic accounting and fraud examination. He has written six books, published 46 research papers and has received numerous awards. He also developed and implemented fraud and forensic accounting education programs for the U.S. National Institute of Justice and the Internal Revenue Service. Riley is a local election volunteer.
Jennifer Morrell is the chief executive officer and co-founder of the Elections Group, a firm dedicated to strengthening democracy and improving the trustworthiness of elections. She is a nationally recognized expert on election audits and consults on election administration and auditing, including mail/absentee ballot processing, physical- and cybersecurity, audits and chain of custody considerations. She is a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, served as an election official in Utah and Colorado, and is an adjunct faculty member at the University of Minnesota’s Hubert H. Humphrey School of Public Affairs.
