Elaine Ziemba, 16-year Club member and former congressional staff dies at 62
Elaine M. Ziemba, a 16-year member of the National Press club and a former congressional staffer and lobbyist, died May 15 at her home in Pompano Beach, Fla. She was 62.
Ms. Ziemba worked as a television reporter in Albuquerque, N.M., and then moved to the Washington area to work as press secretary to newly elected Rep. Bill Richardson in 1983.
She was a graduate of Michigan State University and held an MBA from George Washington University. After working for Richardson, Ms. Ziemba became a lobbyist for various energy interests, including NRS Energy, Northern States Power, Xcel Energy and the American Gas Association. She moved to Florida and sold her home in Arlington in 2013.
