D.C. Superior Court judge plans to discuss her book at June 25 Headliners event

D.C. Superior Court Judge Patricia Broderick plans to discuss her new book, Reinventing the Wheel: Hard Roads Can Lead to Beautiful Places, at a Headliners book event at 6 p.m. Tuesday, June 25.

Broderick is expected to be joined by former Sen. Tom Harkin, D-Iowa, one of the main authors of the 1990 Americans with Disabilities Act, and her co-author Paul Bradley.

Tickets cost $5 for Club members and $10 for the general public. Pre-ordered books will be available for pickup and signing at the event. A limited number of books are also expected to be available for purchase at the door.  Purchase tickets for the event here

Confined to a wheelchair since a car accident as a teenager, Broderick made a conscious decision to push forward in life, reinventing herself as a woman in a wheelchair. After earning a bachelor's and a master's degree, she began working as a probation officer. Her courtroom experiences inspired her to become a lawyer. She became an assistant U.S. Attorney in 1982, eventually becoming an expert in money laundering cases. She was appointed Associate Judge of the Superior Court of the District of Columbia on November 3, 1998.

When Broderick is not doing legal work she travels, enjoys theater, plays the flute, and skis.

The program includes a question-and-answer session. To submit a question in advance, put JUDGE in the subject line and email it to [email protected].
